Although, there may be some serious controversies about money matters, these five shocking truths about money will remain stable without fail.

- Money is a spiritual subject
- Money answers problems
- Poverty is not godly
- You can have more than enough
MONEY IS IMPORTANT
How many times do you hear people say after money, it is still money, if you are from this part of the world (Nigeria), the effect of that statement will hit you when you read it in the Yoruba language. The essence of that saying is to communicate a major truth about finance – Money is important. There are several reasons to emphasise the importance of money. The major one is to know that money is important to God. The ancient book gives us insights into how God cares about money. For you to understand from this angle, consider the widow Jesus praises for her financial sacrifice in Mark 12:41-44. Jesus does not overlook the financial sacrifices you make nor does he belittle them. I know you will agree with me that if God can recognise the importance of money, it is important you don’t underestimate the significance and power of money.
MONEY IS A SPIRITUAL SUBJECT
Do you know that over 20 per cent of the Holy Scriptures concerns money, wealth, finances, property, lands, tithes and giving? Does this suggest something to you? I guess you are thinking what I am thinking. This shows that money is a spiritual subject. Stick with me here. The fact that the Bible talks so much about money shows that God wants you to have money and be happy with your wealth (Proverbs 10:22). Don’t stop reading here. I know you will agree with me that money is an effective tool to bring the message of salvation to lost souls throughout the world. Do you even know your money is your life? You doubt? Hold on. Let us assume you are a salary earner, for everytime you receive your income, your employer is paying you for the portion of your life he uses. The essence of this is to tell you that money as a tool has a spiritual implication.
MONEY ANSWERS PROBLEMS
Do you know the golden rule the world uses to operate? Permit me to tell you. The world operates with the rule of gold. Whoever owns the gold makes the rules. Even the Bible says something similar. It says money answers all things (Ecclesiastes 10:19). I am sure you are with me on this. A mother who needs to buy school shoes for four children will never doubt that money answers all things. Do you also consider a hungry man? Someone hungry will not think twice before he concludes that money answers problems. The truth is that money may not buy you happiness, but it is better to cry in a Ferrari than on a bicycle. This is the fact you should on to. Most of the things that bother you will go away the more you emphasize the role of money in answering your problems.
POVERTY IS NOT GODLY
How many times do you hear people use poverty as a sign of humility towards kingdom pursuit? My dear, come off it!!! Repeat after me: poverty is not godly. Why should you as a child of God live with a poverty mentality while the devil’s crowd is living the best life possible? Poverty is not biblical. The Bible says God gives you all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). This means that if shoes pertain to life, God is willing to give you. If buying good cars pertain to life, God is able to give you. It does not surprise God that your car needs fuel. God wants you to have everything you need in abundance. Pay attention here. Poverty may be popular, but it is not a biblical principle. It goes against everything the Bible teaches and the root is in its author, the devil.
YOU CAN HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH
Do you believe you can have excess? Do you know there can be a time in your life when you don’t mind how much you spend on your needs? The time is now. You can unleash God’s power and abundance into your financial affairs. If you ask God, he can do above all that you can ask or think according to the power that works in you (Ephesians 3:20). If you ask God for a pair of shoes, don’t let it surprise you if he gives you six pairs of Nike shoes. This is the solution to shortage. Don’t stop reading here. You have come a long way. Pay attention. I need you to believe that God’s storage houses are full to the brim and overflowing with abundance. You only need to ask. Money is a good thing and you can have more than enough if only you will ask your father in heaven.
To summarise all these, at this juncture, you will agree with me that it is impossible to overlook the importance of money. Money is a good thing. It catches God’s attention. So, you should pay attention to it too. Above all, internalise these truths about money and let them guide you to always remember that money is essential.
